Here are the requirements for this project:
- You are to make a webpage that focuses on some topic covered during physics this year.
- The focus should be more on outlining the topic than on trying to teach/explain each component. In order to do this I recommend you start each page with a bullet point list of the key concepts related to that topic.
- Include web resources available that are relevant to your topic. These can include but are not limited to:
- webquests/thinkquests
- java applets
- pictures/movies
- other webpages
- You must have a minimum of 8 web resources
- Create some kind of review for your topic. There may be reviews online which you can link to, or you may take and modify anything I have up on my website, or you can create your own.
The goal is to make this resources as comprehensive and helpful as possible. Here is how we will break down the three days:
- Day 1: spend time outlining your topic, deciding what key components you should be including and what information must be there. I would outline everything on paper/in word before transporting to the webpage (s). After outlining, begin looking for resources online that will support the learning of your topic. As you find links, save them somewhere and write a brief description of them so you know what they are later
- Day 2: Continue to gather resources and begin to put the information and resources on your webpage (s). Always be looking for some kind of review component you will also include. If you can't find an online review, begin to construct one on your own.
- Day 3: Polish up the page, get everything to look the way you want it to look. Check all links to make sure they work. Make sure your review is there.
If you need more time than till the end of the day Friday let me know. I will expect you to finish the page by Monday at the latest. If everyone is done Friday I will publish all pages and post them on my Visitation page so you can use each other's sites to review for the final.
Possible sources I have found:
The Physics Classroom - This site is very comprehensive in regard to most physics topics. You are NOT suppose to copy his format in terms of teaching each topic very thoroughly as he does, but this site might help you make an outline of your topic and it is definitely a source you can link to your own page (make sure you link to the actual page within his site which you would like to include on your page
ThinkQuest - These are site created by students of all ages. Essentially these sites can help you outline, but they may also have good review sheets or java applets. This link will bring you to the thinkquest library, a huge list of all quests lumped by topic.
Java Applet sites: By searching in google for Java applets I came up with the following top three hits:
How to search for more topics: If you put your physics topic into google (like light + physics or Electricity + physics) the first ten sites may be helpful. Also, feel free to go on U-tube and see what you can find in terms of clips of real experiments or physics in action.
Beyond this, the project is really only limited by your creativity. Have fun, and make your learning do something!
